Expanded green plant steels itself for key construction role

Australia hasn't built a new steel mill in 35 years. We're changing that, and our project just got bigger.

Today The Australian reported on the next phase of our Collie Green Steel Mill: a new Cut and Bend facility, taking the project to $850 million, plus a partnership with Australian-owned Stride Reinforcement to supply site-ready rebar from WA to east coast construction customers.

Right now, all of the reinforcing steel in Australia's hospitals, bridges and homes is either imported or foreign owned. That leaves our biggest construction projects exposed to price volatility and supply disruption.


We're building the alternative:

🔩 450,000 tonnes of ultra-low emissions rebar a year, lifting Australia's domestic capacity by a third

⚡ 100% renewable energy and 100% Australian recycled scrap steel from day one

🤝 MOUs signed with Lendlease and Laing O'Rourke

👷 500 construction jobs and 250 ongoing roles in Collie, giving coal workers a long-term industrial future


This is sovereign manufacturing capability in action. A future made in Australia, built on foundations we will make ourselves.
